It is a nice little beach. Parking is $5. Nothing too spectacular, but it wasn't too crowded and the staff were all nice. Not sure I'd go back. No worth the long drive to a beach so remote.
I truly love this little beach. If you go early, there are usually minimal crowds, and the water is always calm, and always pretty shallow quite a ways out. Perfect for young children. At low tide, you can walk very far out, in ankle to shin-deep water, and see lots of blue crabs, the occasional horseshoe card and even hermits in little conkshell houses.
They charged me $5 to enter the park at 4 p.m. to show friends where is Pine Island beach was and to help them carry their things and baby onto the beach. Beachside where the Food Shack is was about 2 ft of seaweed all the way up and down the beach to the water the other side was not as bad but covered with seagulls and seagull poop the beach was not clean at all
Wonderful sunsets, great facilities. Parking is $5. I reccommend having some food with you as even when there is a kiosk there is no other place to go on walking distance. There is a group that sings every 2nd Sunday 2 hours before sunset. They are wonderful!
Although the weather is a little cold today, it is a nice place. The water is calm, the birds are neat, and the sand is mushy. Interestingly, the sand is a bluish-dark gray color just under the surface. There are nice palm trees around. Only issue is that there are some sort of biting flies and jelly fish that are washed up from the gulf.
There is a playground as well, and a nice little snack bar that makes burgers and fries, and other treats. Showers, covered picnic tables and grills are also plentiful, so it is easy to spend the day here. Parking is by the car- 5.00 per day. Closes at sunset.
